8 course Travel Lute. This increasingly rare type of lute, (most stockists are increasingly 'out of stock') probably manufactured in Asia quite recently, has never been played and thus is in immaculate, new condition. Constructed of 11 lacewood staves, lacewood neck, rosewood fingerboard, the pegbox is attached at an angle of 135 degrees to reduce the instrument depth for ease of transport. The soundboard is of European spruce, with 8 nylon frets, 4 rosewood frets 15 rosewood tuning pegs and strung with superior Aquila Nylgut strings. It measures 23.5in. from nut to bridge, the pegbox is 9.5in., the width is 9.5in. and it is a slim 4.5in. in depth, thus offering compactness, lightness, portability, and all with incredible action and tone. The lute comes with a soft, padded gig bag, and optional beginner's tutorial book, and is priced at an attractive £275. For more information and photos, please contact
