An exquisite 11 course lute made by Paul Thomson in 1987, after the Warwick Frei, 11 ribs in bird-eye maple. A stunning looking soundboard of exceptionally close grain spruce. Beautifully carved rose. String length 67.5 cm. Perfect action and playability. Currently strung in gut with Savarez bass strings. 6 course lute in E, 69 cm, Martin Haycock (2004) £3,900. This lute is in excellent, pristine condition and plays beautifully, with a very full rich tone. The body is modeled on the Edlinger Tieffenbrucker. The instrument has a powerful sound that carries, low action and a beautifully singing top string.
