The morning vihuela building forum was to mark the publication of a CD ROM of all
seven 16th century vihuela prints in facsimile. Peter Forrester and Alexander
Batov led the discussions. Alexander showed his moulds used to build a vihuela
with a vaulted, fluted back and Jacob Heringman gave a brief demonstration.
At the pre-lunch mini recital, Gordon Ferries played baroque guitar music, as heard on
his recent CD.
Many people lunched at the Pizza Express in Southampton Row
After lunch Kenneth Be gave another mini recital of music from the Braye
manuscript.
The afternoon talk was by Peter Forrester on cittern building.
The Lute Society Recital was by Joachim Held who played renaissance lute music
from the Schele manuscript, with works by Joachim van den Hove, J.B. Besard,
John Dowland, G. Kapsberger, Paulo d’Aragona and others.
